The Inaugural Texas Baptist Gathering July 14-17, 2013
Texas Baptists voted to lay aside our normal annual meetings and gather every 5 years. This year – 2013 – marks our first Summer annual meeting.
Early church believers were known for their fellowship and love. This meeting has Biblical implications. The early believers met together, enjoyed each other’s company and basically had fun. I can’t think of too many things more fun than a big Texas Baptist Dinner on the Grounds in San Antonio.
John says that people will know we are Christ’s disciples “by our love for one another” (John 13:35). A lasting result that Luke reported about early Christian family gatherings was that “Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved” (Acts 2:47b).
Come ready to experience the full mosaic of Texas Baptist family, fellowship, and fun. Come ready to be renewed and refreshed. Come ready to “eat together with a glad and sincere heart, praising God and enjoying the favor of all people” (Acts 2:46-47).
See you at The Gathering
